To music lovers, the city of Vienna is the center of the world.
Whether your tastes run to Classics like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, to the waltzes of Johann Strauss, to the Romanticism of Bruckner and Brahms, or to the Expressionism of Mahler, Schoenberg, Webern and Berg, Vienna offers something for everyone.
The Hong Kong Bach Choir & Orchestra lead you on a musical journey to Vienna through each of those styles: Haydn’s last great work, the Harmoniemesse; Brahms’ moving Schicksalslied [Song of Destiny]; Schoenberg’s early Chamber Symphony No. 1. But wait, there’s more!
Did you know that Strauss first wrote the Blue Danube for chorus? We’ll perform that famous waltz in its rarely heard original form!
Join us on Sunday, 17th May 2026, at 8:00 pm in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.
Featured soloists are soprano Louise Kwong, mezzo-soprano Samantha Chong, tenor Stephen Ng, and bass-baritone Caleb Woo. Music Director Jerome Hoberman conducts.
